Want to reach over 100,000 Australians?

In previous issues of Enterprise, we have included some data gained from our very own online Omnibus. Interestingly, we have had some clients ask: 'What is ACNielsen's online Omnibus?'. Here's a quick summary for those interested to learn more.

Omnibus surveys involve a number of clients commissioning questions on the same survey – thus clients share the cost of conducting the interviewing, allowing economies of scale to be gained. Omnibus surveys provide fast, accurate and cost-effective information about community attitudes.

For its Online Omnibus, ACNielsen maintains an online research panel of over 100,000 Australian respondents. Consistent with industry best-practice, respondents are mainly recruited offline via telephone or face to face methods and are provided with incentives for their participation in these surveys.

Every fortnight, an online Omnibus survey of 1,500 interviews is conducted with panelists aged 18 years and over. Age and gender quotas are applied to each capital city, state and territory to ensure that the sample represents that of the Australian online population. Results are generally available two to three days after completion of fieldwork.
